Heritage Connection Co., Ltd. will present its 3D cinematic video “The 19th-Century Joseon Saingeom” at the Digital Heritage Festa, held in Gongju from September 26 (Friday) to September 28 (Sunday), 2025.

This work is based on the 19th-century Saingeom (四寅劍) of the Joseon dynasty, currently preserved at the Grassi Museum für Völkerkunde in Leipzig, Germany. Inspired by the inscription “Heaven bestows vital energy and Earth nurtures spiritual essence,” the video visually embodies the sword’s spirit of national protection as well as its symbolism of repelling misfortune with the force of thunder and lightning. The intricate patterns engraved on both sides of the scabbard and the majestic metal craftsmanship have been revived through ultra-high-resolution imaging and an 8K precision digital restoration process, presenting a multidimensional view of the aesthetics and technical sophistication of Joseon royal craftsmanship.

By digitizing cultural assets located overseas—often difficult to access in person—this work makes them available for everyone to experience, thereby opening new possibilities for cultural heritage preservation, dissemination, and historical reevaluation. Integrating historical context, artistic beauty, and the potential of digital heritage, this 3D cinematic video reaffirms that the Saingeom is not merely a weapon, but a treasured cultural heritage embodying the spirit of national defense and compassion for the people.
